How to generate consolidated Meta Ads + Google Ads reports
The client does not want 3 PDFs — they want 1 report that makes sense. See how to consolidate Meta Ads, Google Ads and GA4 into a single document.
Every agency that runs paid media knows the end-of-month pain: export from Meta Ads Manager, export from Google Ads, open GA4 to see conversions, dump everything into a Looker Studio (or worse, a spreadsheet) and build a "pretty" PDF for the client. Result: 4 to 8 hours per client, every month. Multiply by 10 clients and you have an entire team-week spent on a report nobody reads properly.
This post shows how to consolidate Meta Ads + Google Ads + GA4 into a single report with logic, without becoming a dashboard engineer.
What the client really wants to see
Before any template: the average client wants to answer three questions in the report:
- How much did I spend? (and where)
- How much did I sell / how many leads did I get?
- Is it improving or worsening vs last month?
Everything beyond that is technical detail agencies love but clients ignore. Optimize the report to answer those three things in 30 seconds of reading. Technical deep-dive goes in the appendix.
Report structure that works
Page 1 — Executive summary
A single page with:
- Total investment in the month (summing all platforms)
- Total result (leads, sales, revenue — whatever the main KPI is)
- Consolidated ROAS or CPA
- Comparison to previous month (% variation)
- 1 "highlight of the month" sentence — what worked best
This is the page the client reads. If it is clear, the rest becomes context.
Page 2-3 — Breakdown by channel
For each platform (Meta Ads, Google Ads, etc.):
- Investment
- Impressions, clicks, CTR
- Conversions (from the pixel itself)
- CPA and ROAS
- Top 3 campaigns (and bottom 3 — to justify pausing)
Page 4 — Assisted conversions (GA4)
This is where the report becomes truly useful. Show the user path: arrived via Meta, returned via direct, converted via Google Ads branded search. Without this, the client thinks Meta Ads does not convert (and turns it off), when in reality Meta Ads was at the top of the funnel.
Page 5 — Insights and recommendations
3 to 5 actionable bullet points: "campaign X had CPA 40% below average, I recommend doubling budget", "audience Y is saturated, I suggest replacing with Z". Without this, the report is just a report — you want to be a consultant.
How to cross Meta Ads, Google Ads and GA4 in practice
The difficulty is not technical, it is modeling. Things to watch:
1. Attribution window
Meta Ads default: 7-day click / 1-day view. Google Ads default: 30-day click. GA4 default: data-driven attribution. If you sum conversions from all 3 without normalizing, you count the same sale 3 times.
Practical solution: for each client, choose 1 source of truth for "conversion" (usually GA4 or their CRM). The others become "conversions reported by the platform" and stay separate in the report, with a clear caveat.
2. Consistent UTMs
Without standardized UTM, GA4 does not differentiate Meta traffic from Google. Before any report, ensure:
- utm_source: meta_ads, google_ads, organic_instagram, etc.
- utm_medium: paid_social, paid_search, organic, email
- utm_campaign: standardized internal name
Without consistent UTM, any consolidated report becomes educated guessing.
3. Currency and timezone
Small detail that breaks reports: Meta Ads in BRL, Google Ads in USD (if the client has a global account), GA4 in São Paulo timezone. Normalize everything to the client's timezone and primary currency before summing.
Tools to do this
Three paths:
Path 1: Looker Studio (DIY)
Free, but takes 3-6 hours to build a template and another 1h per client to customize. Good for an agency with 1-3 clients that has an internal dev/analyst. Becomes unfeasible above 5 clients.
Path 2: Dedicated tools (Reportei, AgencyAnalytics, etc.)
R$ 150-400/month. Solve the reporting part but do not schedule social media. You end up paying for 2 tools (one to schedule, another to report).
Path 3: All-in-one platform
That is what Mais Social does — scheduling + consolidated report in the same plan. Cost equivalent to a reporting-only tool, with scheduling included. Works for agencies with 5 to 50+ clients.
Monthly report template we recommend
- Cover — client logo, reference month, your agency brand
- Executive summary (1 page)
- Meta Ads detailed (1-2 pages)
- Google Ads detailed (1-2 pages)
- Organic social (1-2 pages) — Instagram, Facebook, etc.
- GA4 + conversion journey (1-2 pages)
- Insights and next steps (1 page)
Total: 8 to 12 pages. More than that, nobody reads.
How long this should take
With the right tool: 5 to 15 minutes per client to review automatically pulled data and write the insights. Without a tool: 4 to 8 hours. Run the numbers on hours/month you spend today and the potential savings.
